Complete guitar setup
We are specialised in setting up, repairing and restoring all types of guitars – from electric guitars to acoustic guitars, bass guitars, ukuleles and other string instruments. We're also more than happy to help you with fixing and restoring vintage guitars.
A complete setup of €75,- consists of the following:
- Replacing the strings
- Adjusting the action (i.e. the height of the strings relative to the neck and frets)
- Adjusting the pickups (i.e. the height of the pickups relative to the strings)
- Adjusting the truss rod (i.e. adjusting the curvature of the neck)
- Intonating the bridge saddles (i.e. ensuring the guitar is in tune across the neck)
- Cleaning scratchy potentiometers if necessary
- Cleaning and, if necessary, conditioning the fretboard
- Cleaning and polishing the frets
- Cleaning and polishing the guitar body
Please note: an additional setup fee of €10,- is charged for 12-string guitars. Furthermore, strings are not included in a setup. If you do not have your own set, we charge €10,- for standard gauge acoustic and electric guitar strings. For 12-string guitar strings the charge is €15,- and for bass strings we charge €20,-. If you prefer a specific type set of strings, let us know and we’ll order them for you.

Does your instrument need additional maintenance? Sometimes a standard setup doesn't suffice. Don't worry, we offer a bunch of extras, as listed below. For all extras that require removing the strings, a setup service will also be charged. All prices mentioned include VAT, but exclude material costs. Material costs are of course discussed in advance and are not made without your explicit permission.
Rates extras:
- Neck shimming: €15,-
- Mounting straplocks: €15,-
- Replacing output jack: €20,-
- Replacing pickup selector: €25,-
- Replacing and slotting a pre-made top nut: €25,-
- Replacing and slotting a custom bone top nut: €40,-
- Replacing bridge acoustic guitar: €25,-
- Installing Bigsby tremolo: €40,-
- Replacing tuning machines: €40,-
- Replacing potentiometers: 1 for €20,-, 2 for €35,-, 3 for €45,-
- Replacing pickups: 1 for €30,-, 2 for €50,-, 3 for €65,-
- Copper shielding control cavity: €50,-
- Installing a pickup in an acoustic guitar: from €50,-
- Full fret dress: fret levelling, crowning and polishing: €150,-
- Diagnostics (passive components): €25,-
- For other diagnostics a rate of €15,- per 15 minutes applies
- Same day service: €25,-
Is something broken, but you’re not sure what? We’ll fully test your guitar – pickups, potentiometers, switches, jack, and all wiring. The diagnostic costs will be waived when your guitar is also set up by us.
